Received an email on Friday...got into the CalArts writing program. Probably only got notified because my application now has to go to the Integrated Media department to be reviewed before both the letters are sent. The Integrated Media is like a bonus round. Multi-ball!
Congratulations on CalArts! I don't know the writing program, but I have friends who did MFAs there in film and studio arts, and it's an amazing place--a bohemian hive out in the scrubby hills. Are you a visual artist as well? I am, so this mixed media thing intrigues me.

I'm a self-taught graphic/web designer (recovering Lit major). Here's an example of the kind of thing I'm hoping to continue work on at CalArts. The kind of integrated media I'm interested in is more programming-heavy than design-heavy (as evidenced by the somewhat lacking design of the beta) but I'm hoping to up my design, writing, and programming skills to achieve some contextually-driven narrative environment installations.
