well, depends on how you define "easier"...
i myself went to med school for a year (don't ask... turns out, i'm good at but hate science)... and to get in, i took:
4 terms of organic chemistry, 4 of inorganic chem, 4 of physics, 4 of math, biochem, immunology (not required), genetics, chordate anatomy and phylogeny, ecology (not specifically required), and evolution. along with all their accompanying labs. then, i took the MCAT (a 7 hour test that blows the doors of the GRE... i studied for 4 months). i volunteered 2x per week for 2 years and worked doing medical reseach on congestive heart failure. then, with my decent grades (about a 3.2) and excellent scores (98th percentile), i got an interview at 2 of 11 schools.... none of which were "top 10". i got a position at 1.
when i was applying, there were roughly 50,000 applicants for about 14,000 spots in US schools (classes ranged from 40 to 200 students in an entering class). a lot more spots, a lot more applicants. the percentages i'm not sure about... but here's the thing that i think makes it easier to get into CW programs: ONLY qualified applicants apply to med schools. they won't even CONSIDER your app unless you've taken and passed most of the above classes and are above a certain score on the MCAT.
however, an observation: that isn't a bad thing. when you apply, you know if you've got a good shot or not. in CW, it's all effin' subjective! and hope can be a killer.
