Congrats Knollwood!

Did they offer a TAship interview as well?? Or are those decisions being made later?

I got mine today too! Early birthday present, the best I could have asked for.

Now, does anyone know about TAships? Are those discussed later?

Krystin, congrats!

In the voicemail left on my phone, they said they were recommending me for a TA position. I have no idea if that recommendation guarantees anything. I'll be calling tomorrow to find out, though...

Hey there,
Newbie here. What is TSE? Is it just Queens or all schools? I need to be watching one MORE application results page.
And BIG Congrats!
THanks.

I applied to Queens also. I sent everything in around Feb.1. How long did it take for you to learn of your acceptance? Did they call or email?

Heather:

I sent in my application to Queens University of Charlotte around December 15. I received a letter in the mail sometime in mid-January confirming that they received my application, and a phone call from the director accepting me into the program on January 29. So, the whole process only took a month and a half, even with the holidays.

Don't freak out when you receive that very thin acknowledgment letter in the mail. At first glance, I thought it was a rejection letter!

Heather:

I don't think Queens has a full-residency creative writing program, do they? I was accepted into the low-res program for fiction. I applied to 3 full-residency programs and 1 low-residency program this year. I haven't heard anything yet from the full-residency programs, so I'm waiting on them before I make a decision about attending Queens. I also still need to figure out how I'm going to pay for it...

Anyway, good luck!

Spalding [In reply to] Can't Post

I got the call from Spalding this morning. I'm in for poetry. I didn't apply to any other schools.

One unexpected challenge for me was getting a second letter of recommendation. I had a professor from undergrad who promised to write a letter for any of the students in his class, but he never returned my emails or phone calls. I had to bum around for another one outside the English Department. At least my Creative Writing professor submitted a great letter.

Congrats on the acceptance to Spalding! I hear it's a great program! Anyone heard about Spalding fiction yet? I've been checking TSE compulsively, hoping that perhaps they're making calls today (or even this week)!

Congratulations on Syracuse, Spalding, and all the others! I wish everyone would do their I'm In's here instead of the blogs. I like it here better.

No news for me yet, good or bad. I'm sweating Hunter (fiction) a bit, because one guy got an encouraging e-mail from Peter Carey last week. But it's too early to assume anything. Right???

It's too early to assume anything until you have a rejection in hand. Back when I applied I got upset when acceptance phone calls went out from my favorite school. I assumed rejection and got depressed about it. Then my acceptance came in the mail two weeks later. Hang in there.
