Congratulations Moomoo and AncaLs!

Although AnCaLs I'm confused. I thought the City College deadline was May 1st. How are they notifying so early?

Got into City College of NY by snail mail today for fiction. Yay!

Congrats! That was the only CUNY school I thought I might apply to because I do like it. Are you a NYer? I used to adjunct in the Adult and Continuing Ed department and love teh campus (Even if the best parts of it are now condemned)

Re: [Khalilah] Accepted [In reply to] Can't Post

I think they must do rolling admissions. I had thought their deadline was Feb. 1, like the other CUNYs I applied to, so sent it my app back then. But I did see their ad in P&W magazine showing that May 1st deadline.

Thanks! I am a NYer, but live in Brooklyn. If I go to CCNY, it will be a monster of a commute.

Did you like adjuncting there? What did you teach? I used to teach ESL to adults, but I'm not sure whether I want to go back to teaching. (Took a year off to save money for the MFA by paralegaling...don't know whether I'll keep doing that either.)

Re: [AncaLS] CCNY [In reply to] Can't Post

I did like adjuncting there. They were a friendly group, but I made my own curriculum and did everything myself. I did the verbal portion of the GREs for a couple years. In the end though, a couple years was enough for that course. They are always looking for ESL teachers and the pay was good (over 10$ more per hour than my full-time job, which is in the financial field if for a non-profit)

Hi all- again, congrats on all the new acceptances! Accepted today at UW-Seattle for poetry via snail mail. On the waitlist for a TAship. I won't be accepting this, so someone might be moving up on the waitlist?

Still waiting on my rejections from UMASS amherst and Syracuse to arrive. Haven't heard anything from Montana or Virginia either.

Oh yay! Are you a NYer too? Do you know much about the program beyond what's on the website?

I'm calling them next week to get as much information as I can.

Thanks, weathpa and germericanqt!

Right now I'm most psyched about Florida. Crossing my fingers for some extra fellowship support and if I get that, I'm definitely going.

How about you, g?

Just found out, I'm in at Virginia Tech & got one of the university fellowships at Alabama. Both for poetry. So many decisions to make!

Best of luck to everyone & congrats on all of the acceptances. Hang in there!

As a poet who interviewed with Virginia Tech (but hasn't heard anything) and is waitlisted at Alabama, I say: Choose Virginia Tech! :) And congratulations on having so many choices!
