Greeting friends,

I write to ask an app deadline kind of question.

Does it matter how soon before the deadline we submit?

I asked faculty I knew, and they said that it did not. My feeling is the same--I mean that I *think* the apps gather and then after deadline, programs spread out the wsamples, etc. I am not sure though, guys.

Honestly, a little antsy. Anyway, do you guys have any word on this? Or any notifications from personal apps or friends?
I hold none-no contact yet.

Don't follow my antsy-example, please! It is extremely early!

Lydia, After obsessively reading past MFA application posts, I can tell you that it depends on the program. They're not all the same.

Oh, no! Indiana and Illinois are the first responders, according to 2011 dates.
And I've heard from this one.
I feel a little better, but don't misunderstand. I will carry the appropriate amount of anxiety!

I submitted my application for UNC-Wilmington the first week of November (deadline is January 1). I'm ready to find out.

Just got an acceptance from University of Tampa. I should hear from VCFA next week and Warren Wilson sometime between 14 March and 14 April. Figures that I'm hearing back from schools in reverse preference order.

Delurking to say that I got a call yesterday saying that I'm in at Warren Wilson for fiction! I've also had acceptances at VCFA and Spalding, and I feel very lucky. I am 99% sure that I'll be going to WW, but am waiting for the acceptance packet and the chance to talk with students/alumni just to make absolutely sure WW is the place for me.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting to get in to Warren Wilson, because in years past I'd applied to other competitive (traditional) programs and hadn't been accepted. But I think my years of practicing/revising my writing and continuing with conferences, workshops, and the like helped, and I'm so glad I didn't give up.

I am over the moon!
