Editorial Focus

We publish short experimental fiction paired with art. We like weird forms of literature: letters, receipts, lists, flash-fiction, and other literary absurdities. We do not publish any stanza-form poetry whatsoever.

We enjoy short but challenging pieces (FIVE PAGES OR LESS). Short-forms do not offer enough room to bore the reader, this allows the writer to be ridiculous or overly intense.

Our books are measured to fit in Levi’s back pockets and printed on high-quality, sustainable paper-stock. We are reader supported on Kickstarter and post stories on our website daily.

Tips From the Editor

Go to theNewerYork.com/submissions for more detailed information.

We will respond to every submission within a month's time.
If you need a quick response, submit in the "Speedy Response" category.
Our submissions are 100% blind so please do not include identifying information within the body of your submissions.
Read our submissions agreement before submitting.
Make sure to include the bio you would like to have published.
We DO NOT review or accept "standard" short-stories and poetry, so make it weird.
