
Full-time, non tenure-track Assistant Professor level position in the Department of English beginning in the 2013-2014 academic year. The successful candidate will be a specialist in Rhetoric/Composition with expertise in professional and technical writing.
Responsibilities:
-Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Teach 12 credit hours per semester in courses for majors and non-majors in Professional Writing, Writing in the Disciplines, and Technical Writing.
-Responsible to design and deliver courses in keeping with departmental learning outcomes and teaching philosophy.
-Responsible to assist the English Department in establishing and overseeing internships in Professional and Technical Writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
MA in Rhetoric/Composition. Three years of college-level teaching excellence. A background in professional writing and contacts in this field. Experience in establishing and overseeing internships. Demonstrated experience in and commitment to teaching first-year writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in hand, on-the-job experience in professional writing.
