This program offers writers the opportunity to emphasize the connection between place and identity. Students may focus on their home area, one of the field-study destinations, or the Appalachian region. Additionally, the faculty-to-student ratio for this program does not exceed 1:4. Writers may spend one residency in a Wesleyan-supervised field seminar in Ireland or another approved travel destination. All students attend two 10-day residencies per year.
The deadline for spring applications is October 1; the deadline for fall applications is April 1.
