This program has a professional focus on writing and publishing, incorporating internships with publications, publishers, writers, and agents. It features three new independent study courses: the Book Proposal, the Reported Memoir, and Research & Reporting, all three of which are taught by publishing professionals. Students may participate in the annual trip to New York City to meet with agents and editors.

Students must complete a two-week long residency each August and a long weekend residency each spring.
