Sam Pereira received his BA from California State University, Fresno and his MFA from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. He lives and teaches in California's central San Joaquin Valley, along with his wife, Susan, and the magnificent Bichon Frise, Sonny, who continues to save them both from the occasional perils of life.
