Students take part in three 15-day residencies abroad: one before the start of the first and second academic years and one following completion of the program. These residencies rotate annually among Buenos Aires, Argentina; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Santiago, Chile. Residencies incorporate a cultural curriculum specific to each city. Additionally, optional intensive language courses are available at the beginning of each residency and require an extra week abroad.
Additional genres are available in playwriting, screenwriting, and writing for young adults. Students may choose to gain editorial experience by working with Qu Magazine. An alumni program is also available, which introduces graduates with agents and editors.
