This program also offers degrees in playwriting, and hosts the Great Writers, Great Readings series, which brings writers to campus to give readings and meet with students. Other features include the Writer's Block student-run writing group, which hosts student readings.

The priority deadline for scholarship consideration for the fall term is January 1; the priority deadline for for the spring term is February 15. Applications received after February 15 are accepted on a rolling basis.
