Founded in 1953, this independent bookstore is also an historical landmark, offering three floors of books from major publishing houses as well as speciality publishers. In addition to selling books, City Lights also publishes them through City Lights Publishers, which is known for Allen Ginsberg's Howl and Other Poems as well as the Pocket Poets Series. Hours are 10:00 AM to midnight daily.
