Headmaster

Headmaster, the biannual art magazine for man-lovers, is published twice a year in an edition of 1,000. All work in Headmaster is assigned by the editors. While primarily a visual magazine, each issue of Headmaster features the work of 1-3 fiction and non-fiction writers. Headmaster publishes roughly five text-based pieces per year. Work published in the first six issues of Headmaster include erotica, film criticism, travel writing, literary fiction and memoir. The editors of Headmaster are open to other forms of writing as well, although poetry isn't really our thing. Sorry, poets.

Hello Mr.

We accept submissions of all kinds, depicting gays and non-gays from all walks of life. This includes interviews, short stories, fiction, non-fiction, academic essays, personal essays, profiles, photography, and illustration. We are a global magazine, so all content must transcend ‘place’ and exclude current trends or news. There is no theme specific to any issue. We choose to only publish material that has never appeared on the web or in print. Simultaneous submissions are allowed. All submissions for print are also considered for publication on web.

Our mission is to cultivate engagement with and conversation about the arts by publishing high-quality, innovative literary and visual art by both established and emerging artists, and by offering opportunities for interactivity and discourse.
