Red Savina Review

How does one judge authenticity in the literary arts? Intuition. And, if Heidegger was correct in his assumption that language is the house of Being, intuition, not logic, is the impetus of art and authenticity. Before we can come to either, it seems, we must purge those definitions attached to us like artificial appendages in public school, through mass media, in the university. The purpose of Red Savina Review is to record the writer’s struggle to wrest themselves from the bizarre marketplace of modernity in the quest to claim authenticity and thereby take a stand on Being.

Red Wheelbarrow

Red Wheelbarrow (since 2000), formerly Bottomfish (from 1976)—published through De Anza College in Cupertino, CA. We believe that everything that crosses the transom merits deep attention. We believe that beauty and meaning will inhabit wildly varied and unexpected tones and styles. Our journal is well produced, eclectic, tough minded, open, lyrical, passionate—socio-politically engaged—and we value quiet & craft, the gaze into nature, the deft image, the startling leap, meditative consciousness—and great use of language. We honor and crave all of those qualities—in art—and in one another.

Redivider

Published twice a year, Redivider welcomes art, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry submissions from new, emerging, and established artists and writers. We strive to showcase the very best previously unpublished art and literature we can find; to actively engage the broader literary community, and to support and nurture that community in our pages and beyond; to welcome and serve historically underrepresented voices, including those marginalized due to class, gender, race, and sexuality; and, above all, to give good art and literature a good home.

Relief: A Christian Literary Expression

Our goal is to embrace real, gritty, painful, wonderful, this-side-of-heaven life. Too many Christian publications opt for clichés and placating expressions of the ideal. Relief seeks to bridge the gap between mainstream publishing and cotton-candy Christianity.

Requited Journal

We are looking for writing that explores the boundaries of text and form, writing that is both progressive and unbound. We would like to see hybrid and transgenre pieces that remain critically engaging. We are interested in poetry, fiction, drama, nonfiction, sound, and critical work. We seek experimental writing that is fresh, intelligent, and playfully transgressive.
