The Bad Version

The Bad Version is an online magazine with an occasional print publication that seeks to foster conversation about the world we live in through the fiction, poetry, and essays of the young and curious. Its name comes from the collaborative art of screenwriting, where the first attempt at a scene, that wild idea that gets the process going, is called a “bad version.” Likewise, this magazine is dedicated to beginnings: to pieces that are taking risks, trying to broach new ideas, experimenting with new forms, starting new conversations.

The Bangalore Review

As book-lovers from childhood, the editors grew up loving the written word, both contemporary as well as classic, and depended upon them for our intellectual nourishment. We owe the society we grew up in for the books we read and the knowledge we earned. Our purpose in launching The Bangalore Review is to give back, in our own way, to society what it lent us.

The Barefoot Review

The Barefoot Review publishes original written work by people who have or have had physical difficulties in their lives, from cancer to seizures, Alzheimer's to Lupus. It is also a place for caretakers, families, significant others and friends to write about their experiences and relationships to the person. They are a vital part to being able to live with an illness. Writing can be a tremendous source of healing and allow difficult feelings and ideas to be expressed, verbalizing feelings that may be subconscious.

Barking Sycamores

Barking Sycamores is a literary journal whose primary mission is to publish poetry and short fiction by emerging and established writers who are neurodivergent — this includes autism, the state of being currently known as AD(H)D, bipolar, synesthesia, and so on. We also seek to add positively to the public discussion about neurodivergence as a whole in the form of essays on literature and the interrelationship between alternative kinds of neurology and the creative process.

Bateau

BATEAU subscribes to no trend but serves to represent a wide cross-section of contemporary writing. For this reason, readers will most probably love and hate at least something in each issue. To us, this means Bateau is eclectic, open-ended and not mired in a particular strain. Each issue is an art piece: letterpress covers, great design, attention to detail. We consider the company your work keeps. We are also an environmentally conscious publisher.
