Structo

Structo is a literary magazine. It was founded in 2008, and is based mainly in the UK. Twice a year a print issue is produced containing remarkable new short stories and poetry from all around the world, alongside essays and interviews with authors and others. Three months later the issue goes online, free to read by all. Writing in the magazine comes from established writers and new voices. On the fiction side it tends towards the slipstream end of things. Poetry in translation and original verse in English both feature.

subTerrain Magazine

“Strong Words for a Polite Nation” subTerrain Magazine was founded in 1988 to publish writers from the other side of the tracks. Each issue features progressive and sometimes controversial writing, alongside timely book reviews and contemporary visual art. Praised by both writers and readers for featuring work that might not find a home in more conservative periodicals, subTerrain seeks to expand the definition of literary and artistic culture by showcasing the best in progressive writing and ideas.

Subtle Fiction

We are a new literary magazine which aims to publish the best short fiction online. We are interested in short stories and flash fiction pieces of no more than 3,000 words. Fiction which does not fit into a box. It must be lively, daring, and filled with subtlety, hence our name. Give us stories which surprise and move us. We are looking for beautiful, complex, and uncompromising work.

Sugar House Review

Sugar House Review is an independent (not funded by any college/university) poetry mag. published semiannually in Salt Lake City. We try to feature a few local/regional poets to be a contributing piece of the Utah literary community, but our magazine is by no means exclusive to geography. We intend to publish the best poetry we can get our hands on without displaying a bias to a particular style or voice. We hope our content is not easily lumped into any category other than "good poetry." We publish new and established voices, only a small portion is solicited work.

Sugar Mule

"The mule always appears to me a most surprising animal. That a hybrid should possess more reason, memory, obstinacy, social affection, powers of muscular endurance, and length of life, than either of its parents, seems to indicate that art has here outdone nature." - Charles Darwin
