Nat. Brut Inc. is a Dallas-based non-profit organization that produces a biannual art and literary magazine both online and in print. We aim to provide quality, engaging, dynamic, inspiring work from a wide array of genres and mediums in a way that values the potency and interconnectivity of these mediums. We also strive to demonstrate balanced representation among our contributors in a way that allows all artists' work to coexist fluidly. We are open for submissions during the months of May and November.

The New Engagement

The New Engagement endeavors a novel approach to discovering, introducing, and showcasing writers, artists, and filmmakers who are underrepresented (POC, LGBTQ) while encouraging and supporting their social-consciousness. Our $5 reading fee automatically enters writers (of poetry and fiction) into our James Baldwin Literature Prize, which awards $1,000 to a single winner. All contest entries are also evaluated for general placement in our online and print journal, as well. Our first print journal is set for release in early 2017. Our online version was founded in July 2016.

The New Guard

We host writing contests in Fiction and Poetry and welcome international submissions. We juxtapose tradition with experiment, the up-and-comer with the established writer and create a new dialogue. **The Writer's Hotel is the editorial arm of TNG. The Writer's Hotel hosts Master Classes in Fiction, Nonfiction and Poetry in Midtown, Manhattan. Newfound

Newfound is a nonprofit publisher based in Austin, Texas. Work published explores how place shapes identity, imagination, and understanding. The journal is published bi-annually online and annually in print and features fiction, poetry, nonfiction, visual arts, reviews, and more. Newfound also publishes poetry chapbooks through the Gloria E. Anzaldúa Poetry Prize and prose chapbooks through the annual Newfound Prose Prize.
