Neutrons Protons

Neutrons Protons is a monthly literary project that operates with unfaltering belief in three primary things: the power of true and honest human stories; the importance of smart and purposeful humor; and the role great writing plays in both. Pacifica Literary Review

We publish literary prose, (creative non-fiction & fiction), poetry, art, photography, and author interviews. We let loose the transformative properties of the Pacific waters into magazine form. Here is storytelling, things that are new, things that are blue, and the hymn-like old, the ancestral. Here are migrating whales and ferry rides, fishing boats, conifer covered land, fresh victuals, the sound of rain, secrets, rants, electric sunlight, coffee. We humbly present page-space for metamorphosis, for the imprinting of the ocean, for the printing of ourselves.

We look for a story to tell us something universal about the human condition. Just because our theme is "recovery" doesn't mean that all of what we publish is about successful recovery. The Rusty Nail

Thank you for stopping by “The Rusty Nail,” the Web’s newest online literary magazine. Our goal is to join the growing community of Internet-based English types who not only love literature and the written word, but are enamored with the future of both. We believe that the Internet has given authors and poets the opportunity to share and get recognition for their work without having to sell their soul to “The Man.” This preserves artistic dignity and lets the reader see the writer’s thoughts and soul without the often numbing influence of industry “professionals.”

scissors and spackle

Words in their purest form both cut and repair, sometimes simultaneously. We believe that words have not been given the credit they are due often enough. Scissors and spackle wants to slip back into the power of words and is searching for artists who string them together in ways that make us remember. We are not concerned with what box or title an artist's work fits into, or how many words it takes them to get there. We are only interested in the destination. We are interested in fiction without boundaries.

Slice, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit print magazine, is the brainchild of two book editors with a firsthand view of how difficult it is for new authors to have their voices heard. Squalorly

We do not seek scholarly analyses or angst-driven diary entries; nor do we wish to be entertained by martians, demons, ghosts, or fairy godmothers. Those stories have a place, but it’s not here. Move, amaze, horrify and educate us about the complex world in which we live. We publish storytellers. Whether they hold MFAs or are ditch diggers is of little concern, so long as the words seem to have clawed their way onto the page, defying the will of the author, with little regard for sleep, safety or comfort.

Storyacious

Our focus is on imaginative and entertaining storytelling through diverse media, blurring the lines between disciplines and genres: books, music, movies, TV, artwork, photography, etc. We welcome original stories (fiction, non-fiction, poetry) with unusual, eclectic themes, new and fresh perspectives and demonstrating a command of the chosen medium, whether words, images or sounds. Style is just as important as content, voice and form. We’re also very keen on multi-cultural narratives from various parts of the world (in English).

Tikkun

We especially like stories, poems, and non-fiction pieces that deal with the spiritual, progressive, regenerative, and transformative elements of life. We’re also highly drawn to works about religion, Israel/Palestine, the Mideast conflicts, and social justice. Please keep in mind that ours is a global, multi-faith readership, and while we appreciate non-English expressions, the language needs to be broadly accessible.

The Tusculum Review

We want writing that takes risks while still paying attention to craft. We are happy to see prose poems, stories that burst into poems, poems that burst into stories, etc. Mixing genres doesn’t scare us. Of course boring, self-involved, over-inflated pap turns us off. We publish poems, fiction, nonfiction, and plays.

Under the Gum Tree

Under the Gum Tree is a storytelling project, publishing creative nonfiction in the form of a micro-magazine. We believe in the power of sharing a story without shame. Too much of the human experience gets hidden behind constructed facades based on what we perceive the world expects from us. Stop hiding. Live a story. Tell it without shame. And by without shame, we mean that the authors and contributors featured in our pages own their story, even the ugly parts, and share it with pure, unadulterated, raw, candid vulnerability.

The Wayfarer: A Journal of Contemplative Literature

A wayfarer is one who chooses to take up a long journey on foot. The journey we chronicle within the journal is that of our path across the inner-landscape of our own being, as we reach for answers to the central questions of our existence. Spirituality is the culmination of the individual’s desire to understand the deeper meaning in life. The works found within The Wayfarer are those small truths we gather while traversing the breadth of our days; shared in a belief that through an exchange of insights we help one another move forward.
