Mobius: The Journal of Social Change

We've never been able to answer satisfactorily what we mean by "social change." To paraphrase Justice Douglas, we know a Mobius story or poem when we see one. We like writing that offers some form of social commentary, but we don't necessarily favor the overtly political, or the overtly anything. We have a marked distaste for prosaic didacticism (but a weakness for prose poems).

Modern Haiku

Modern Haiku, the oldest and largest haiku journal outside Japan, seeks the best in contemporary English-language haiku, senryu, haibun, and haiga, as well as book reviews and essays on related topics. We also publish work originally written in languages other than English, together with translations.

MOLT

MOLT is a new literary journal based in the principles of honesty and simplicity. We believe that good writing deserves to be read, regardless of who wrote it or how many pages we have left. (We resolved this issue by abandoning pages altogether.) We hope to provide a voice for emerging writers, especially those whose work falls in the gap between “mainstream” and “alternative” writing—which in contemporary literature is alarmingly wide. We are also committed to responding personally to every submission, opening a channel of communication between writers and editors.
