Five Quarterly is an online literary project that facilitates an innovative and constantly changing dialogue among readers and writers. We have created an opportunity for all the various kinds of people who appreciate reading to express their literary preferences by participating in our editorial process. Each quarter, a new group of five guest editors ultimately selects five poems and five pieces of fiction for online publication. Our hope is that this project will yield a multitude of voices, diversify the face of publishing, and encourage an expanding literary community. |

The intent of THE FLEA broadsheets is to serve the Soveraigne Muse, by publishing first-rate poems which accord with Her Ideal of poetic Delight, in an occasional Broadsheet, using cutting-edge Seventeenth Century Technology, & state-of-the-art Alchemy. THE FLEA is friendly to strong poems in Formal Verse, including poetry which might not, for sundry reasons, fit the Style and Orthodoxy of some prevailing Schools and Sects; poems which deploy difficult & bizarre Conceits, or (it may be) use abstruse language not found in every common inn or marketplace. |

Aboard a boat in the middle of Lake Monroe in Sanford, Florida, the three who would become the associate editors discussed the idea of a journal that would showcase work from all over the country, but that would be selected by an editorial board of distinguished scholars from the state of Florida. Our board is comprised of professors from every post-secondary educational level and from different regions in Florida and is charged to evaluate each submission for literary greatness. |
