Under the Gum Tree

Under the Gum Tree is a storytelling project, publishing creative nonfiction in the form of a micro-magazine. We believe in the power of sharing a story without shame. Too much of the human experience gets hidden behind constructed facades based on what we perceive the world expects from us. Stop hiding. Live a story. Tell it without shame. And by without shame, we mean that the authors and contributors featured in our pages own their story, even the ugly parts, and share it with pure, unadulterated, raw, candid vulnerability.

Underwater New York

Underwater New York is a digital journal of stories, art and music inspired by the waterways that surround New York City and the objects submerged within them. By providing a prompt and platform for new creative work, and facilitating opportunities to engage with each other and the city itself, our mission is to help our audience envision the city in a new way, through the landscape of its sixth borough – its waterways.

Unsplendid

Our journal is soley interested in poetry in received forms (e.g. sonnets, triolets, terza rima, pantoums, sestinas, prose poems) and nonce forms (those invented for the poem). We publish original texts, translations, reviews, and essays. We view this venture not as a partisan-like imposition of a particular aesthetic, but as establishing something akin to the radio station that "listeners" will turn to when they are in the mood to "hear" top-notch poetry written in meter and traditional or nonce forms.
