Submission Guidelines

Send a query letter via mail or e-mail explaining what the work is and why it’s worthy of consideration: Why anyone would want to read it? Perhaps the most important ingredient, especially for nonfiction writers, is the author’s credentials; make those clear and prominent. A short sample is recommended, whether the submission is for nonfiction or fiction. Never use the phrase “fiction novel.” Reporting time can be up to eight weeks.

Tips From the Agent

"An agent is as much an appraiser of the editorial potential of books and stories as a salesperson in a competitive, even unfriendly marketplace. Be able to explain whom you are writing for and why that audience will be compelled to spend $27 for the privilege of reading it. Also: proofread!"
