Writers in the Heartland

Writers in the Heartland offers weeklong residencies from August 30 to September 7 and September 27 to October 5 on a 32-acre wooded site in Gilman, Illinois, approximately 50 miles south of Chicago. Residencies are open to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers who live in or have a connection to the Midwest. Residents are provided with a private room and work space, as well as all meals. Submit four copies of 10 pages of poetry or up to 15 pages of prose, a cover letter, and a résumé with a $20 application fee by April 30.
