Wordstock
The eighth annual Wordstock festival was held on October 13 and October 14, 2012, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. The festival features workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as a book fair, discussions, readings, book signings, and workshops. Participants in 2012 included fiction writers Michael Koryta, Erin Morgenstern, and Maria Semple. The cost of the festival was $7 for one day and $10 for both. The cost of workshops ranged from $20 to $35, with general festival entry included. Registration for workshops is first come, first served. Visit the website for information about the 2013 festival.
