The 11th annual Wisconsin Book Festival was held from November 7 to November 11, 2012, at various venues in downtown Madison. The festival features readings; panels; open mikes; conversations with authors, editors, and publishers; and an underground publishing fair. Participating writers included poet Frank X. Walker, fiction writers Ayad Akhtar and Richard Russo, and creative nonfiction writer Mary Johnson. Most events are free and open to the public.
