A seven-day retreat at a cabin in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, approximately 70 miles southwest of Asheville, is given annually to a fiction writer who has completed but not published a novel. The resident is provided with lodging and meals, as well as a $300 stipend, but is responsible for her own transportation. Rikki Ducornet will judge. Submit up to 25 pages of a finished novel and a one- to two-page synopsis with a $25 entry fee by May 24. Visit the website for complete guidelines.
