Vermont Studio Center
The Vermont Studio Center offers 2- to 12-week residencies to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers in Johnson, a village in the Green Mountains. Composed of 30 historic buildings on the banks of the Gihon River, the center provides lodging, work space, and meals, as well as craft talks, readings, and the option of conferences with two visiting writers each month. Tuition for four weeks is $3,950 or $2,050 for two weeks. Financial aid is available. The application deadline for full fellowships is June 15; non-fellowship applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Submit three copies of up to 10 pages of poetry or up to 15 pages of prose, a résumé, and contact information for three references with a $25 application fee.
