The 2014 Tinker Mountain Writers’ Workshop was held from June 8 to June 13 on the campus of Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as craft seminars, individual conferences with faculty members, and readings. The faculty included poets Thorpe Moeckel and Emilia Phillips; fiction writers Mary Stewart Atwell, Laura Benedict, Pinckney Benedict, Barbara Jones, and Fred Leebron; and creative nonfiction writers James McKean, Daniel Mueller, Jon Pineda, and Kim Wright Wiley. The cost of tuition was $775. Housing was available on campus for $225 for the week or in nearby hotels beginning at $60 to $70 per night. A campus meal plan was available for $200. Applicants submitted the required application form and a $400 deposit to be used toward tuition by May 6. Registration was first come, first served.
