Editorial Focus

Founded in 2002 as an online literary journal, Tarpaulin Sky published its first paper edition in 2007 and continues to publish new work both online and in print, often curated by guest-editors, focusing on cross-genre/trans-genre/hybrid texts as well as innovative poetry and prose.

Tips From the Editor

We're certainly not after polemics, but we do appreciate work that is not comfortably insulated from what we might call "global suffering." In short, we want work that raises our consciousness of something other than the author's fortunate socioeconomic status; work that might speak to someone outside the MFA industry; work that feels necessary, even urgent.
