A prize of $20,000 is given annually to honor an outstanding collection of short fiction published in the United States during the previous year. Two runners-up will each receive $5,000. Larry Dark and Julie Lindsey will select three finalists; three independent judges will choose the winner. The annual deadline for books published during the first half of the year is July 15. For books published from July 1 through December 31, 2008, publishers, authors, or agents may submit five copies (or bound galleys) with a $75 entry fee by November 14.
