Soaring Gardens Artists' Retreat

The Soaring Gardens Artists’ Retreat offers residencies of two to eight weeks from May 15 to September 30 to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The retreat, sponsored by the Ora Lerman Charitable Trust, is located on 23 acres of rolling hills outside Laceyville, Pennsylvania, situated in the Endless Mountains approximately 40 miles northwest of Scranton. Residents are provided with shared living quarters and work space in either a four-bedroom farmhouse or a turn-of-the-century church. Emerging writers with at least two years’ professional experience are eligible; female writers and groups are particularly encouraged to apply. Residents are responsible for their own food and transportation. Submit a writing sample of any length, a project proposal, a biography, a resumé, and two letters of recommendation (sent directly to the retreat by the references) by March 10.
