The 2015 Slice Literary Writers’ Conference will be held from September 12 to September 13 at St. Francis College in downtown Brooklyn, New York. The conference offers craft workshops, panels, and one-on-one agent meetings for poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers. Participating writers included fiction writers Ben Greenman, Julia Fierro, and Bret Anthony Johnston; and creative nonfiction writer Rebecca Mead. Participating publishing professionals include Sarah Bowlin (Henry Holt), Michele Filgate, Katie Freeman (Riverhead/Penguin), Brigid Hughes (A Public Space), Maris Kreizman (Kickstarter), Vanessa Mobley (Little, Brown), Benjamin Samuel (National Book Foundation), Lucy Silag (Penguin Random House), and Rob Spillman (Tin House); and agents Lisa DiMona (Writers House), Kirby Kim (Janklow & Nesbit), Elizabeth Winick Rubinstein (McIntosh & Otis), and Renée Zuckerbrot (Renée Zuckerbrot Literary Agency). The cost of the conference is $350 for both days or $250 for one day (students receive a $50 discount). Agent meetings range from $50 to $100; craft workshops are $50 per class. A limited number of scholarships are available to undergraduate and graduate students; the application deadline is June 15.
