Renee Olander loves to read and write and is a passionate advocate for poetry and the powers of language and the imagination. She has taught at Old Dominion University, and around the Hampton Roads region, for more than 25 years. As a teacher, she works with diverse populations including K-12 and college students, and senior citizens; she also has broad experience leading K-12 teachers in integrating poetry across the curriculum. Olander earned an MFA in Creative Writing (U. Southern Maine), an MA in English (Old Dominion U.), and a BA English (Mary Baldwin College). She currently works as Assistant Vice President for Regional Higher Education Centers at Old Dominion U.
