Random House Named Best Book Publisher to Work For

A recenty study by Book Business titled "20 Best Book Publishing Companies to Work For" ranked Random House, the world's largest English-language trade book publisher, as the best employer. The study, which Book Business plans to perform each year, explored which companies rank highest among their employees for "overall job satisfaction." Factors included pride in company performance and reputation, fairness and openness of company management, workload, and respect for employee's personal lives. Random House has more than three thousand employees working in 120 imprints in the United States.

Three university presses were ranked in the top ten, with State University of New York Press in Albany (fifth), Oxford University Press (fifth), and Columbia University Press (tenth).
