Christian publisher Thomas Nelson recently announced that it will eliminate all of its twenty-one imprints and publish books solely under the Thomas Nelson name and logo. As part of a restructuring called the One Company Initiative, the company will cut the imprints Rutledge Hill, Nelson Books, and others and organize its titles according to the Book Industry Standards and Communications (BISAC) list of subject codes, such as Fiction, Religion, and Reference. No layoffs are planned as part of the reorganization.

The company, which began publishing books such as Robinson Crusoe, The Vicar of Wakefield, and the Bible in Scotland in the early nineteenth century, grew successful in the United States as a publisher of Christian fiction, memoir, and nonfiction books, as well as music. In June, the company was acquired by the private equity firm InterMedia Partners for $473 million.
