A nine-month fellowship, including a $16,000 stipend, is given annually to a Christian writer of poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction to complete a first book. Writers who have completed an MA in English, creative writing, or the humanities or an MFA in creative writing are eligible. The fellowship will take place at the Milton Center, which is based on the campus of Seattle Pacific University, from September 15 to June 15, 2009. Fellows will contribute to the center's ongoing work and teach courses in the SPU English department. Submit 8 to 12 poems or 30 to 50 pages of prose, a book proposal of two to three pages, a biography of two to three pages, and a one-page explanation of goals to accomplish at the Milton Center with a $25 entry fee by March 15.
