Author's Bio

PETER SCHMITT is the author of five collections of poems, including Renewing the Vows (David Robert Books); Country Airport, and Hazard Duty (Copper Beech Press); and the chapbooks, To Disappear, and Incident in an Apartment Complex: A Suite of Voices (Pudding House). His poems have appeared in many leading journals, including The Hudson Review, The Nation, The Paris Review, Poetry, and The Southern Review, and been featured on the Writers Almanac and in numerous anthologies and textbooks. A native Miamian, he also reviews poetry and fiction for The South Florida Sun-Sentinel and The Miami Herald. Mr. Schmitt has taught creative writing and literature at The University of Miami since 1986.
