Ocean State Summer Writing Conference

The 2013 Ocean State Summer Writing Conference will be held from June 20 to June 22 on the campus of the University of Rhode Island in Kingston. The conference features workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as readings, panels, craft discussions, and publishing seminars. The faculty in 2013 includes poets Talvikki Ansel, Peter Covino, Kevin McLellan, and Kristin Prevallet; fiction writers Lashonda Katrice Barnett, Betty J. Cotter, Edward J. Delaney, Jody Lisberger, and Padma Venkatraman; and creative nonfiction writers Mary Cappello. Matthew Gavin Frank, and Amy Hoffman. Keynote speakers include poet Richard Blanco and fiction writer Amity Gaige. The cost of the conference is $400 before May 15, and $425 thereafter. Scholarships are available.
