The National University MFA Program in Creative Writing is a completely online writing program with no residency requirements whatsoever. Students may volunteer to work on the student literary journal, the GNU. The program has elective coursework in young adult fiction and is friendly to genre fiction writing of merit.

In addition to poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction concentrations, the program offers a concentration in screenwriting.
