Nancy Scott

Author's Bio

I am the author of four full-length books: Down to the Quick (Plain View Press, 2007), One Stands Guard, One Sleeps (Plain View Press, 2009), Midwestern Memories (Aldrich Press, 2014}, and Running Down Broken Cement (Main Street Rag, 2014); and four chapbooks: A Siege of Raptors (Finishing Line Press, 2010), Detours & Diversions(Main Street Rag, 2011), On Location (March Street Press, 2011), and The Owl Prince (Aldrich Press, 2015). I began writing poetry in the mid-90s as a way to record the many stories I'd heard working with foster and adoptive kids, homeless families and those with mental illness or AIDS. This inspired the poetry in Running Down Broken Cement. I have been the managing editor of U.S. 1 Worksheets, the journal of the U.S.1 Poets' Cooperative in New Jersey for more than a decade. I have received awards for my poetry and for my artwork, which I exhibit in juried shows and also at online venues. I am available for editorial consultations. www.nancyscott.net for more information.
