The 12th annual Muse and the Marketplace Conference will be held from May 3 to May 5 at the Park Plaza Hotel in Boston. The conference, for fiction and creative nonfiction writers, features craft classes, panel discussions, and meetings with agents and editors. Participants include fiction writers Jane Hamilton, Sheri Joseph, Bobbie Ann Mason, Pablo Medina, Alix Ohlin, Charlie Pierce, Anita Shreve, Emma Straub, Justin Torres, Helena Maria Viramontes, Joan Wickersham, and Mitchell Zuckoff; agents Jason Ashlock, Michelle Brower, Anna Stein, and Mitchell Waters; and editors Emi Ikkanda, Karyn Marcus, and Paul Whitlatch. The cost for all three days is $480, or $320 for Saturday or Sunday only. For a one-on-one manuscript consultation with an editor or agent, submit up to 20 pages of prose with a $145 registration fee by April 10. The general registration deadline is April 29.
