The sixth annual Maine Festival of the Book was held from March 29 to April 1 on the campus of the University of Southern Maine. The festival features readings, panel discussions, performances, and book signings. Participating writers in 2012 included fiction writers Peter Behrens, Clark Blaise, Heidi Julavits, Ben Marcus, and J. Courtney Sullivan. Most events are free and open to the public.
