Claremont Graduate University recently announced that Lucia Perillo won the fourteenth annual Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award for her collection Luck Is Luck (Random House). She received $100,000. The award is given to a mid-career poet. In addition, Christian Hawkey won the Kate Tufts Discovery Award for The Book of Funnels (Verse Press). The $10,000 award is given annually to an emerging poet. The final judges for both awards were Allison Joseph, Robert Pinsky, Alice Quinn, Charles Harper Webb, and Robert Wrigley.

Established by Kate Tufts to honor her late husband, poet and fiction writer Kingsley Tufts, the annual awards are given for books of poetry published in the previous year.
