Author's Bio

Linda Flaherty Haltmaier is an award-winning author, screenwriter, and the Poet Laureate of Andover, Massachusetts. She is the winner of the Homebound Publications Poetry Prize for her full-length collection, 'Rolling up the Sky' (2016). Her latest collection, 'To the Left of the Sun', was released by Homebound Publications and was named the winner of the 2018 International Book Award for Poetry. 'Catch and Release', her debut chapbook, was published by Finishing Line Press. Her work has earned numerous awards including First Place in the Palm Beach Poetry Festival Competition, Finalist honors for the Princemere Poetry Prize, The Rash Award for Poetry, The Joy Bale Boone Poetry Prize, The Tucson Festival of the Book Literary Award, and been shortlisted for the Robert Frost Poetry Prize the past two years. Her poetry has appeared extensively in journals and anthologies including Ink & Letters, WSQ, The Wild Word, Switchgrass Review, and more. Haltmaier lives on the North Shore of Boston with her husband and daughter where she gives readings, leads workshops, and works with schools to raises the profile of poetry in her community.
