Author's Bio

In addition to four books of personal essays, I have edited three anthologies of short nonfiction for W. W. Norton. I am also co-editor (with Ted Kooser) of an anthology of poems about birds. I am an Advisory and Contributing Editor for The Georgia Review where I serve as regular reviewer of poetry. I served on the faculty of the Rainier Writing Workshops; have taught at Centrum, Writers @ Work, Split Rock, etc. My most recent publication is The Circus Train, from Ovenbird Books--a press for experimental nonfiction.
