Jessica Kehinde Ngo

Author's Bio

Jessica Kehinde Ngo, a writer and English professor, is an identical twin with a Nigerian-American background. After 17 years of living in Bakersfield, California—the most conservative city in the whole state which is also one of the nation’s foremost producers of baby carrots and a place where having an oil well as a school mascot is nothing out of the ordinary—she moved to Malibu in 2002 to study Creative Writing at Pepperdine University. Upon graduating in 2006, she entered the Master of Professional Writing program at the University of Southern California and became obsessed with dissecting her cultural and social (twin) background, therefore embarking on the journey that became a short story, which later evolved into Second Twin, First Twin--her first book. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her French husband (the love of her life), teaches English and writing at a couple local colleges, and busies herself with thoughts of her next writing journey.
