Ex-patriot from Suburbia, Jack Lorts, poet/politician has lived and taught in rural Oregon the past thirty-five years. First published in late 50’s in such places as Ron Padgett’s White Dove Review, George Bowering & Frank Davey’s Open Letter, Nomad and other post war avant garde magazines; over the years he continued to publish in such magazines as Arizona Quarterly, Kansas Quarterly, Fishtrap Anthology, Abbey, Agnostic Lobster, Oregon East, etc. In 2008, Pudding House published his chapbook, The Daughter Poems & Others… He continues to circulate and publish his own brand of “serial poems,” (inter-connected poems by different poets), including The Great Oregon Serial Poem (Talent House 2001) and The Others Side Of The Hill: A Trek Through Eastern Oregon By Poet (Ice River 2003).
