International Writers Project Fellowship

A fellowship valued at $45,000 will be given annually to an established international writer "who is unable to practice free expression in his or her homeland." The fellowship, sponsored by the Brown Graduate Program in Literary Arts and the Thomas J. Watson Institute for International Studies, provides funds for relocation to the United States, living expenses, and an office on the Brown University campus for twelve months. Writers or individuals seeking to nominate a writer may submit at least ten pages of poetry or prose, along with English translations, a letter explaining need, a publishing history, and a resumé by February 1.
