Hourglass Books celebrates the contemporary short story. Our mission is to pluck these stories from the specialized world of literary journals and bring them to a wider audience of everyday readers. We do this by focusing on the anthology -- short stories from different authors, with each book assembled around a common theme.
Tips From the Editor
We publish anthologies of short stories assembled around a common theme. We are interested only in literary fiction. The category of literary fiction excludes genre works, such as science fiction, mystery, romance, westerns, etc., since these works already have many other outlets available to them.
